Status of HIV/AIDS Epidemic in China and Progress of Control and Prevention

Characteristics of the Epidemic

  1. HIV/AIDS epidemic is still on rise, but the increasing rate appears a declining trend
  2. Changes of transmission mode and route: Sex contact becomes major transmission mode, however, injection drug use is still a considerable transmission mode in China
  3. HIV has spread widely, but there is significant geographic variation in the epidemic
  4. Principal HIV epidemic factors exist widely
