Continuing Education Program for Dental and Medical Professionals

HIVDENT IS INTENDED TO SERVE AS A MEANS OF ACCESSING INFORMATION FROM AUTHORITIES IN THE FIELD OF ORAL HEALTH CARE FOR PEOPLE LIVING WITH HIV, AS WELL AS EDUCATION, RESOURCES, PUBLIC POLICY AND ETHICS.
HIVDENT IS INTENDED TO BE A SOURCE OF INFORMATION AND IN NO WAY SHOULD REPLACE THE CARE AND EXPERTISE PROVIDED AT THE LOCAL LEVEL.

How can I be involved?

• Any licensed healthcare professional can be involved by following the procedures outlined on this page.

• Read an article from the Continuing Education Index of Articles Page.
  
• Complete the registration form On-line and Answer the questions about the article or send the completed registration form and answers to the Medical College of Georgia.
  Each article allows you to earn one (1) CE credit.
  
• A score of 75 percent (75%) on the test is required to earn CE credit. Your test will be graded by faculty at the Medical College of Georgia.

• Each quiz and registration requires payment of a $15 fee in order to receive CE credit. The fee must be received by the Continuing Education Office at the Medical College of Georgia before CE credit is issued.
  
• There are several ways you may make your payment:

• Include your Credit Card information (Visa, MasterCard or American Express) along with the quiz when you take the test online.   This enables you to complete the process online ; or

• Call R. McDermott at (800) 221-6437 or (706) 721-3967, between 8:30-4:30 EDT, identify the program and provide your credit card number and expiration date (Visa, MasterCard or American Express) This allows you to take the test online and then call in your credit card information to a staff member at MCG; or

• Fax the course title with your credit card number and expiration date to R. McDermott at
  (706) 721-4642; or

• Mail your check or money order to:

• Your test score and Continuing Education credit statement will be mailed to you. Please complete the evaluation mailed with your credit statement and return it in the post-paid envelope.
  
• Notify the appropriate state board of any CE credit you receive. The Continuing Education Division at MCG does not notify your state licensing board.

• Approval/Credit: The School of Dentistry, Medical College of Georgia is an ADA CERP Recognized Provider. AGD Approved National Sponsor, FAGD/MAGD Credit, ACDE Approved.. 1 credit hour.
  This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essentials and Standards of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education. The School of Medicine of the Medical College of Georgia is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to sponsor continuing medical education for physicians. The School of Medicine of the Medical College of Georgia designates this continuing medical education activity for 1 credit hour in Category 1 of the Physician’s Recognition Award of the American Medical Association.
